A true friend wouldn't hurt you,
And put you down.
They'd be there for you,
To get rid of your frown.


A true friend wouldn't call you names,
And make you cry.
They'd wipe away your tears,
And lift you up to the sky.


A true friend wouldn't lie to you,
And pretend it never was.
They'd tell you the honest truth,
And not just because.


A true friend wouldn't always get mad,
And take everything out on you.
They'd respect you,
And everything you do.


A true friend wouldn't leave you behind,
To make your own way.
They'd be there the whole way with you,
And always be there to stay.


A true friend is something,
That can't be bought.
You may go through fights,
But that can be fought.
