There was a sweet silence in the house. Kids were away for a vacation and the domestic help was out of sight. I was busy arranging the champagne glasses to celebrate the romantic evening, my wife surfed TV channels in the meanwhile. According to a study by the Deakin University, Australia, women who cut down on red meat are likely to suffer twice as much from anxiety and depression. The study showed more than 1,000 women completely switching to protein such as chicken and fish are not as healthy as they are supposed to be. Felice Jacka from the university says, "We had originally thought that red meat might not be good for mental health, as studies from other countries had found that the consumption of red meat to be associated with physical health risks — but eventually it turned out to be important." The survey conducted by research agency YouGov has found that 86 per cent of slimmers who continued enjoying their favorite treats successfully lost weight, the New York Post reported. It was found that of the 2100 men and women surveyed, those who lost the most weight- 91 percent of cases- had continued to eat the same amount of chocolate they normally ate before going on a weight-loss plan. Janet Aylott, a nutrition scientist with online calorie counting plan Nutracheck, who commissioned the YouGov survey, said that extensive research has proven that diets cantered around food elimination are much more likely to fail. Meanwhile, another research by researchers at Harvard University has suggested that eating chocolate may help you live longer. ...
