Why do women feel guilty?

10 Guilt demons

Do you find yourself burying your head in shame each time you fail to be a perfect hostess, or when you say no? Here's how to stop whipping yourself

Are you sick of reading about how an amazing lettuce-only diet will make you happier, or how decluttering your home could transform your sex life? You're not the only one. After all, you have enough to feel guilty about without worrying about your love handles or your kids' confidence. According to a recent study, 96 per cent of women feel guilty at least once a day. This can have a destructive effect on our health, even factoring in the onset of depression. Here's how to cancel guilt trips.

No time for kids

Since most mothers now go out to work, women are expected to balance a happy home life with the demands of a job. But a startling majority feels like they haven't got the balance right. If you're at work worrying about the children, work isn't getting the best out of you and the kids aren…

Ek bar fir aaj akeyla hoon main - By Bhoomi Pandey

Ek bar fir aaj akeyla hoon main..
Apne hi apno me ek anjan chehra hoon main..
Kuch halchal si rehti hai mann me aksar..
Aaj na jane kyun, kuch thehera hoon main..
Uthla-sa ye jeevan mera..
Kehta hai aaj kuch gehra hoon main..
Kabhi jo jataya maine apnapan unse..
Wo kehte hain unpar chhaya pehera hoon main..
Kaash!! ke fir laut aaye bachpan mera..
Kehta hai wo daur ke "Sunehera hoon main"..
Kya kuch paaya hai kabhi kisi ne yahan??
Aise hi kuch sawalaton ki khoj me fira hoon main..
Kehne ko to sath hain mere dost-o-habeeb yaron..
Fir bhi veeran registaan me tanha khada hoon main..
Khush-rangeeniyon me jane kaise beet-ti hai hayaat..
Aisa hi kuch kar guzarne ki chah me aaj phir chala hoon main..

The Samosa Vendor - A Short Story by Meera Ravichandran

The Samosa Vendor

“Today in India its unbelievable .......
The numbers are a little difficult to swallow, ......
But interesting nevertheless.”

It was my regular train journey home from work.
I boarded the 18:50pm train from Paranur.
When the train was about to leave Guduvanchery,
A samosa vendor with an empty basket got on and took
the seat next to me.
As the compartment was sparsely occupied and my
destination was still far away,
I got into a conversation with him.

Me: "Seems like you've sold all your samosas today."
Vendor (smiling): "Yes. By God's grace, full sales today."

Me: "I really feel sorry for you people. Don't you get tired doing
This tiresome job the whole day?"

Vendor: "What to do, sir? Only by selling samosas like this every day do
We get a commission of .75 paise for each samosa that we sell."

Me: "Oh, is that so ? How many samosas do you sell on an average each day?"
Vendor: "On peak days, we sell 4…

Dunes of Time - By Bhoomika Pandey

As days of my life are passing by... The mystery goes stronger, that who am I?? Still a petty wanderer wandering in deep dark woods.. Still fighting to come out of all the woulds and shoulds.. Halfway through is what I think have travelled.. Which makes it halfway more to go by.. I might have been through most of it..  Threz still a lot more to come by.. My mind flashes back to the beautiful past.. Childhood was the best of all perhaps.. I wanna shout & play & fall& rise..  No matter how dirty I look, still that was wise.. Today all I have is to pretend..  Worries here do not seem to end... A notion then slowly creeps to my mind... A notion then slowly creeps to my mind... The missing puzzle piece, will I ever find..?? If that is what it is, leave me alone.. I dont want any message or phone..  Is that what u've written for me O'Lord.. Is that my fate, or blow of your sword.. I can see my pieces scattered all around.. Li'l time do I have to gather those I found…

Aisi lahrai teri zulfe dota aakhire shab

Aisi lahrai teri zulfe dota aakhire shab, Sijda-e-shukr hawaon ne kiya aakhir-e-shab.
Husn us shokh ka iss darja badha aakhire shab, Chand taron ne bhi dil thham liya aakhire shab.
Usne iss tarah mujhe mast kiya aakhire shab, Jaame mai chheen liya tod diya aakhire shab.
Fir vo aaya rukhe tabinda pe anwaar liye Thhak ke jab kaanp utha daste dua aakhire shab.
Aa gaya ab to bahut rang pe mausam ka mizaj Tu bhi aye yaar koi fitna utha aakhire shab.
Fir hasin beete hua lamho’n ka ehsaas jaga, Fir mujhe chhed meri neend uda aakhire shab.
Awwale shab to bahut short ha hangama tha, Ab zara aai vahi narm sada aakhire shab.
Vahi suraj bana aalam ke liye waqte saher, Vo jo shola mere pahlu se utha aakhire shab.
Aisa manzar tha ki duniya taho bala thi meri, Hasil-e-deed thi vo laghzishe pa aakhire shab.
Muskuraya vo mujhe dekh ke is tarah “Irfan” Aai kaliyon ke chatakne ki sada aakhire shab.
